![]() ![]() ġ) As far as automatic sampling is concerned: for sampling virtual soft synth instruments I came across your post about how you go about resampling instruments to EXS24 and I think it sounds like a really fast method. I'll try that import EXS K5 patch fix that you suggested, if that works I won't need chickensystems at all. Thanks man, you're the best! I'm so glad you are a fellow EXS24 lover that is so kind to share his extensive knowledge about using EXS24 instruments and conversion.Ģ) for conversion of EXS24 to K4: awesome advice! The kontakt version on my slave computer is K4, but on my main computer it is Kontakt 5.6 and I've been trying to convert my EXS instruments over there. they all require some tweaking.Ĭlick to expand. mainstage is great for quick sampling and adding effects but its not perfect. ![]() sample robot is just a bit expensive so i didnt use it since i went with mainstage autosampler. i sample with MainStage that automatically creates EXS24 so i convert using Translator (chicken system) and then open again in kontakt and change things around. but i think kontakt 6 breaks the connection or its a different workaround so you might wanna check on that. a lot of the software is based on all sampler styles so there are a lot of options for EMU and random jurassic samplers which we dontneed. oh well.īut the guys at chicken systems answer emails and are good with support. if you see the videos you will see how amazing it is and why apple bought. btw - many sample companies, eve the big ones still have a EL captain computer so they can use redmatica. even reumática that was regarded as one of the best had issues. but also it seems translations from and to different formats is not an easy thing. I personally dont like chicken systems, feels like a 2002 software that just get upgraded to be used on the newer mac os. not perfect but it can get very creative on sampling. I use logic and had used redmatica so i went with MainStage. If you are interested I could share it with you, once I have a less ugly and buggy version (however it might take a while :/). And I also need to detect loop points so I can make sustained sounds. So far it only works with midi instruments, but I want to make it work with acoustic instruments recorded with mics, at some point. I don't know how EXS24 works, but my tool generate wav files with all the information about the sample in the name, so if there is some sort of auto-map feature based on the name it should work. I can define a range of notes, the number of velocities and round robins I want, and then the software will send the corresponding midi message, record the sound, save it, and name it correctly so it can be loaded to kontakt and just work with the automapping. As I am a programmer, and very lazy, I started working on a software to do that automagically for me. I recently faced the same issue, I wanted to sample sounds from my eurorack system, but the process seemed long and boring. ![]() I only need these Kontakt versions to use on my slave mac pro via VEPRO: if I had the choice I would just let vepro use EXS24 instruments, since EXS24 is my main sampler of choice, but since EXS24 cannot be used outside Logic I am searching for a way to automatically create useable kontakt versions of all my EXS24 in Kontakt 4 (don't have a higher Kontakt version). I tried opening them in kontakt which 'reads' EXS24 files, but it messed up the order of the samples and ADSR settings etc. ![]() Note: I'm also on an older mac osx 10.9, so the software should also be able to work on this older OS.ġ) Is there any sampling software out there that automatically samples, edits and creates properly programmed EXS24 instruments without mistakes? Is it 'on par' with sampling and programming it "manually"? Can it do round robins etc?Ģ) Additionally, I am also searching for software to batch convert all of my EXS24 instruments to correctly working Kontakt 4 instruments. I don't have Logic X and am not planning to buy it, so any third party software suggestions for mac are welcome. It seems to me after some searching online that the redmatica stuff was the best software, but I also read that it is impossible now to buy this software since it is discontinued. I am used to sample, edit and create EXS24 instruments of all my acoustic and synthesizer-instruments "by hand", but this is very time consuming and I recently have been investigating options to sample virtual AU synth instruments, hardware synths more 'automatically', but I am totally confused by all the software options out there. ![]()
